Hi. I’m Agatha.
I’m a writer, editor, critic, and journalist.
I’m an LA native, but I lived in Victoria, British Columbia; Fife, Scotland; Boulder, Colorado; and Cambridge, Massachusetts before realizing that California is where I belong. I served as food editor for the Los Angeles Review of Books during 2016. I love LA stories, and am a frequent contributor to The Los Angeles Times.
My fiction has appeared in a bundle of literary journals, I was a finalist for Epiphany Magazine’s 2016 short fiction contest, and I have received two Pushcart Prize nominations. I graduated with an MFA in writing from Bennington College in 2015. I’m currently working on a collaborative chapbook combining short fiction and illustrations by women artists working in LA.
I love interviewing interesting people, and think that book reviews are tantamount to interviewing literature. I am fond of art, in any discipline, that shines a light on our secret selves.
In addition to journalism, criticism, and fiction, I write branded content for an indie record label.
I'm nervous, but I hide it well.
